 FAQs HOUSING

1) How much is the rate of organization costs and when does it need to be paid?

The rate of housing organization is payable only if you are not registered in any of our programs and you want only housing. In this case, the cost is $300 ARS which is a one-off payment and includes the coordination and organization of accommodation best suited to your needs and personal tastes to help give you useful information for your stay in Argentina.

2) What is the minimum stay in a Homestay or Shared Apartment?

The minimum stay is 1 month while the maximum stay in our contract is 6 months. However you are able to renew your contract indefinitely.

3)Can I book a program without accommodation?

Yes. If you wish to do so, you can arrange your own accommodation and only book the program. However, in order to ensure a positive immersion experience, we recommend you book your accommodation through Connecting Worlds to guarantee a place that fits your expectations and is located in a safe area.

4) How are hosts selected?

Hosts are carefully selected and controlled by our Staff. Hosts have experience hosting foreign students and work with us on a regular basis. Homestay accommodation comprises not only of families but also of private homes with a couple or a single person without children.

5) Who should I contact if I have a problem with my room, the apartment or my host?

We are here to work as intermediaries and we strive to bring you the best options for housing, so our priority is to make sure you have an unforgettable experience during your stay in Argentina and feel comfortable in your new home. In the unlikely event you do not feel comfortable with your Homestay and you can advise us, within 72 hours, we can help resolve any problems that may arise between you and your host.

6) How do I reserve a room?

Once you have found a room you want, click on the ‘’Reservation Inquiry’’ button and complete all necessary information in the online reservation form. Once you receive our reply confirming the availability of your selected room (within 48 hours/on business days), we will proceed to make the definite reservation, for which we will need to verify your personal data. The reservation will be guaranteed with the payment or transfer of 20% of the gross total price of the rental price in the form of a reservation deposit.

7) How do I pay?

Your first payment is due on check-in when you sign the contract at the house or apartment. During check-in you will pay the remaining 80% of the first months rent. Beginning the second month you will pay the house owner directly the remaining 80% in cash (argentine pesos). Payment should be made between the 1st and 5th of each month for the following month.

8) Why do we have to sign a contract?

The contract establishes each party’s rights and responsabilities and benefits everyone by outlining the basic conditions of the rent, such as the time and cost of rent, and acts as tool to avoid misunderstandings.

9) What is a deposit? Who keeps the Money?

The deposit ensures that the contract is fulfilled and is equal to half month’s rent, for stays up to four weeks and to 1 month of rent, for stays over four weeks, in the selected room and its value will be in the same currency as monthly rent. Your host will hold on to this deposit from check-in to check-out. If there is any damage to the room, the cost of repairing the damages will be deducted from your deposit as agreed upon in the contract signed upon check-in.

10) Will I have internet access in my accommodation?

Yes, all our housing is proposed with Internet, ADSL, cable and wireless. Usually the guest is the one who carries his or her own personal computer to surf the Internet.

11) What services are included in the rent?

Common rooms (kitchen, living room, lounge, etc..) - Use of garden or balcony (if any) - Additional expenses: Gas, water, electricity - in some cases local landline calls - Private bathroom or shared - Use your TV (if any) The use of the Internet, washer and dryer or heating in winter are not always included. It depends on the policy of each leaser. If there are extra charges for the use of these services as indicated particularly in the detailed description of the room on our database.

12) Are there rooms with full board and / or half board?

Yes, we have rooms with full and half board. However, most of what is on offer on our database may not contain this additional service. In practice there is not much demand for it. Please look at our offers and if you do not find what suits your needs, ask us and we will gladly deal with your special request.
